Manuel Albarran may be the only person who does what he does: metal couture. Creating avant garde pieces of metal, leathers, fabrics, feathers and wood, Albarran’s work instantly brings to mind a widely known Alexander McQueen quote “I want to empower women. I want people to be afraid of the women I dress.”
Though Albarran’s extravagant pieces are less on the side of wearable and more on the side of art, they certainly mirror McQueen’s sentiment and look like the garb of mystical warriors, out of this world fembots, and modern gothic queens.
