Statement colors and prints, shift dresses, opulant jewelry, posh caped coats, winged liner, slick houndstooth and herringbone suits, square toed heels, dapper caps, colorblocked gowns: The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is a spy movie that has all the aesthetic goods of a spy movie and then some.
Costume designer Joanna Johnston garnered inspiration from Jean Shrimpton, Veruschka and Marisa Berenson for the women’s costumes and Jean-Paul Belmondo for the men’s for Guy Ritchie’s adaptation of the 1960s TV series. Think all Louis Vuitton, vintage Gucci, Marni and Carven, everything.
