Steel Sculptures by Zheng Lu

October 12, 2015

Growing up in a literary family led Chinese artist Zheng Lu to form a significant relationship with language, words and calligraphy early on.  His fascination with water came on his own, specifically the shape and movement.

In his new conceptual series, he intermingles both of these infatuations into large-scale stainless steel sculptures. Thousands of laser cut Chinese characters merge to make enourmous suspended water-like shapes filling an entire gallery (currently the Sundaram Tagore Gallery in NYC).

Check out more of Zheng Lu’s artwork here and here.
